Connect upTake to your AI assistant

upTake has an MCP server. Add it to Claude, Claude Code, Cursor or VS Code, then ask what brought visits, signups and revenue this week, or ask for a post about your last release. You sign in to upTake once, in a window: there is no key to copy.

Server address: https://uptake.me/api/mcp

Claude

In Claude on the web or the desktop app, open Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, name it upTake and paste the server address. Leave the advanced settings empty. Claude then opens the upTake window to sign in.

https://uptake.me/api/mcp

Claude Code

Run this in your terminal, then type /mcp in Claude Code and choose upTake to sign in.

claude mcp add --transport http uptake https://uptake.me/api/mcp

Cursor

The button opens Cursor and offers to install upTake. Cursor asks you to sign in at the first call.

Add to Cursor

Or add it by hand to the mcpServers of your mcp.json:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "uptake": {
      "url": "https://uptake.me/api/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code

The button opens VS Code and offers to install upTake for GitHub Copilot's agent mode. VS Code asks you to sign in at the first call.

Add to VS Code

Or from a terminal:

code --add-mcp '{"name":"uptake","type":"http","url":"https://uptake.me/api/mcp"}'

What your assistant can do

Read-only by default. Changes only when you tick “Allow changes” while connecting. Nothing is ever published or scheduled from an assistant.

  • Your projects at a glance: this week's visits, signups, paying customers and revenue against the 4 weeks before, and the sources that brought them.
  • The details when you ask: sources, links, posts and releases, and what each one brought.
  • Your posts in Write, the calendar of a week, your post ideas, this week's moves and the last weekly report.

With changes allowed

  • Prepare a post in Write, in your voice and with tracked links. It counts against your monthly drafts.
  • Create a tracked link, or log something you did outside upTake so it is measured.
  • Ask for new post ideas, dismiss one, mark this week's moves done or add your own.
  • Set the day a post is planned for in the calendar. Nothing is scheduled.

Any client that speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP with OAuth connects the same way, with the server address above.

Questions

Do I need an API key?

No. The first time your assistant calls upTake, an upTake window opens: sign in, choose whether the assistant may make changes, and allow it. Keys stay available in Account settings → AI assistants for tools that cannot sign in.

Can the assistant publish or schedule a post?

Never. It can prepare posts in Write, create tracked links, log actions, organize ideas and this week's moves, and set the day a post is planned for. Publishing and scheduling stay in upTake, after you review the post.

What can it read?

The projects of your account: visits, signups and revenue by source, your links, posts, calendar, ideas and weekly reports. Only the numbers these tools return can be quoted.

How do I disconnect an assistant?

Open Account settings → AI assistants in upTake and revoke its access. Its next call is refused. The same page lists the calls each assistant made.

Which plans can use it?

Every plan. Writing a post or asking for new ideas counts against your monthly drafts and idea series, as it does in upTake.
