upTake reads nothing from Discord announcements: this connector only posts, and only when you press Send. It asks Discord for the name of the webhook, its server and its channel, to show you where your posts go and to link to each one once it is posted.
How to connect Discord announcements
- You need an upTake project first; creating one takes 5 minutes.
- Click Connect on the Integrations page; a small window asks for what Discord announcements needs.
- Webhook URL: In Discord: settings of your announcements channel → Integrations → Webhooks → New Webhook → Copy Webhook URL.
- upTake checks it with Discord announcements before saving it.

Where Discord announcements fits in your workflow

What you see afterwards
In Write, the post written for Discord gets a Send button: it shows you the message as it will appear, then posts it in your channel, with its tagged link, so the visits it brings are measured like any other post. You choose the name and the picture the posts appear under.
What upTake never reads
No bot joins your server. upTake never reads your messages or your members, never posts on its own, and can never mention @everyone or a role.
Whatever you connect, the IP addresses of your visitors are never stored, and the keys and accesses you give are stored encrypted and never sent back to your browser.
Good to know
You can disconnect Discord announcements at any time from the Integrations page: upTake stops at once, and what was already imported stays in your project until you delete it. Your data is hosted in the European Union, and you can export all of it, or delete your account, from Settings.
Questions about Discord announcements
Does upTake post without asking me?
No. Nothing is posted until you press Send on a draft, after seeing the message as it will appear.
Can I post in several channels?
One channel per project for now: the one whose webhook you connected.
Can I change the name and the picture of the posts?
Yes, from the Configure window on the Integrations page. Left empty, Discord uses the name and the picture of the webhook.
